Scrumptious Sandwich Saturdays

For the next few Saturdays I want to share with you some of our favorite sandwich recipes. The alliterated title is thanks to my husband. I am following his example as he loves to do this in his sermons. I have to say though he is much better at it than I.
The sandwich that I am going to share with you today is one that a friend served at a recent baby shower. It was so good that I made it for my sister's baby shower. Every last sandwich was eaten. These little sandwiches are delicious! They would be great for brunch, lunch or dinner. I always love to see a picture of the recipes I cook so I am sorry that I do not have one for you. Hope you enjoy this sandwich as much as we have.

Ham Sandwiches

Look Who's Walking!

Macaylee has taken it upon her little 10 month old self to start walking. She is trying it out every chance she gets. She does have two older sisters to keep up with. Here is a short clip of her demonstrating her new skill of walking.

So Cute!

Every day before nap time both Madisen and Miriam get to pick out a book that we read together and then after our books are read we sing a few songs together. Then it is time for Miriam's nap and Madisen's quite time.
Well, on this day, Madisen had a different plan. I had sent both of the girls up stairs to pick out their books and when I arrived up stairs Madisen told me that she was going to read Miriam her books today (this from my 4 year old who can not read yet) and sing her songs with her. After consulting with Miriam to make sure this was ok, I headed out to the loft were I waited until it was time to tuck Miriam in.

When I got the "ok, we're done" I came back in to find Miriam tucked in and ready for her nap. Upon further inspection I saw she did not have her blanket and was about to go find it when Maddie told me that she wanted to get it. I gave Miriam a hug and kiss and watched as Maddie brought Miriam her blanket and gave her a hug and kiss and said "sleep good Miriam, I will see you when you get up". With that Madisen left the room and went down to the playroom to start her quite time.

A Great Reminder

Today over at Biblical Womanhood there is a great post entitled "The myth of "having it all together"". If you are a mother with small children this is a must read.

There are so may days when my expectations are too high and I try to get too many things done. Today was one of those days. My house is a mess, there is laundry to be folded, and the list goes on. It was such a great reminder about the stage of life that I am in, a mother of young children, three young children. It is normal to not have it all together, for there to always be a list of things that need to be done, and for my house to not always be organized and clean. So if you are a mother of young children take a minute or two to read this post.

Baby Name Book

In our loft we have two book shelves that hold many of our books. The girls love to take some of the books off the shelves to play store with or pretend to read. Several days ago Miriam picked The Baby Name book off the shelf and she has kept it close ever since, even taking it to bed. Here is how my conversation goes with her as she so seriously looks at the pages of the book
Me: "Miriam, are you reading the book"
Miriam: "No"
Me: "What are you doing?"
Miriam: "Me, working, daddy" (as she seriously takes her finger and taps her lower lip, just like her daddy does)
It is so cute to see her imitate her daddy. Chris, has been doing a lot of studying and work for his class and Miriam has been watching and taking it all in.

Yesterday when I went to wake Miriam up from her nap this is what I found. So cute!
