"Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace."
These few words serve as such a great reminder to me. My eyes should not be consumed by the things of this earth, but rather focused on Jesus. With all that is going on in this world, it brings me comfort to meditate on this verse from Philippians.
"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior,
the Lord Jesus Christ." Philippians 3:20
This world is not our home. Our focus needs to be on the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We need to be living in anticipation and in preparation for that day. Our eyes need to be fixed on our Savior.
Lord, help me to think on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. (Philippians 4:8) May my eyes be focused on Your glory and grace, that the things of this earth would grow dim to me. How I long and wait for your coming.
