Putting My Trust In The Lord

With all that is going on with our economy, it is so easy for me to start worrying and fretting about the decisions being made by our government and what the weeks..., months..., and years to come will hold. Worry is something that I have struggled with. Thanks to the Lord's work in my life it is not as much of a struggle as it once was, as I am learning to trust, lean, and rest on Him in every circumstance. Trusting Him is something that I have to continually remind myself to do. One of the verses that serves as a great reminder and encouragement to me is Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your paths."

A sweet lady from my bible study shared this quote a few weeks back and it keeps coming to mind when I am tempted to question or worry about all that is happening.

"In the middle of our world troubles, the Christian is not to go about wringing his hands, shouting: 'What shall we do?' with more nervous tension and worry than anyone else. The Christian is to trust quietly that God is working out things according to His own plan."

All the events happening around us are His plan. Even though it might mean hard times to come, they are God's plans. My husband and I have already seen hearts softened to Jesus Christ because of this economic crises. How many more might be saved through this unsure time.

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22

Lord, help me to put my trust in you. To find my rest in you. Help me to remember your wonderful promises as I go through my days. Thank you for all the blessings that you give me each day.
