Every Thursday night we have "family night". I am always looking for fun things for us to do together. This last Thursday we made Soft Pretzels. I have been wanting to make soft pretzels for some time and when I came across this recipe that uses the bread machine I knew I wanted to try it. Here are some pictures of the fun and the recipe.

Measuring out the ingredients.

Bread machine mixing the dough.

Rolling out dough ropes.

The dough ropes formed into pretzels.

Boiling the pretzels for a few seconds.

Ready to go into the oven. We changed thing up just a little bit by sprinkling cinnamon sugar on a few of them, yum...

Warm out of the oven.....

eaten.....

and enjoyed.

1 T. active dry yeast
1 T. active dry yeast

Place all the ingredients except the egg white and 1 T. water in the bread machine. Set on dough setting. When complete roll out on floured surface into 16 inch ropes. Shape into pretzels. Drop in boiling water for 8 to 10 seconds. Place on greased baking sheet. Make glaze with egg white and 1 T. of water. Brush glaze over pretzel and sprinkle with Kosher salt. Place into preheated oven at 375 for 15 - 20 minutes.
